Photography has always been accompanied by a recurring question: What makes a great image? Over the years, many friends, workshop participants, and Instagram followers have repeatedly asked me: “How did you take this photo? Did you use an expensive camera? Was your gear professional?” These questions revealed an important truth: many people believe that outstanding photography primarily depends on gear. But reality looks different. Photography starts long before pressing the shutter button; it starts with understanding. I created “Principium” to answer these questions once and for all. This book aims to make photography understandable for everyone, regardless of experience or equipment. For every photo, you can see the camera gear used, demonstrating that impressive images are defined by knowledge, preparation, and vision—not price tags. Photography is not an accident, but observation, patience, and intent. My goal with “Principium” is to help you see differently and to approach every photo with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
